The Content Revival
Checklist
Give old content new life without recording anything new
Your Progress 0 of 12 complete

You don't need a new idea. You need to look at what you've already made and ask it a second question. This checklist walks you through the four moves that turn one old piece of content into a refreshed asset, a free resource, and a repurposed suite of new posts.

Revisit the content
✓
Notice the trigger, don't force the audit
This usually starts small: filing something, updating a library, tidying a folder. That's the moment to pay attention to, not a scheduled deep-dive through your archive.
✓
Pick one piece you haven't looked at in months
It doesn't need to be perfect or recent. Choose the one that still feels true to what you teach now, even if it's old.
✓
Check for a second piece hiding nearby
Often there's a related training, post, or video sitting close by that covers similar ground in more depth. Look for it before you move on.
Refresh the surface
✓
Update the thumbnail or cover image
A dated visual signals "old" before anyone presses play. A small visual refresh is often enough to make the piece feel current again.
✓
Rewrite the title or description
Sharpen the language to match how you'd describe it today. This is also your chance to make it easier to find via search.
✓
Write a short summary to reintroduce it
A few paragraphs that explain what it is and why it's worth watching now. This becomes the anchor for wherever you place it next.
Route the piece
✓
Decide where it lives right now
Free resource library, community post, or paid offer. You don't need certainty, just a reasonable first placement.
✓
Let a test answer what you're unsure about
If you're not sure whether something should be free or paid, place it as free for a short window first and watch how people respond before deciding.
✓
Add one clear next step for the viewer
Whether that's joining a community, downloading a resource, or watching a deeper training, give people one obvious place to go next.
Repurpose the pieces
✓
List every self-contained moment inside it
Go through slowly and pull out every story, step, or line that could stand alone without needing the rest of the piece to make sense.
✓
Turn one moment into a short-form post
Pick the strongest standalone idea and write it up for the platform where your audience is most likely to see it.
✓
Log what you've created and where it links back
Keep a simple note of what this piece became and what it connects to, so future you isn't relying on memory to know what already exists.
Keep Going
